April is spring on Mykonos, with mild days and cool evenings. The sea is still too cold for most swimmers, so it is a month for walking around Mykonos Town, exploring villages such as Ano Mera and enjoying the island before the season begins.
May
May brings warm, sunny days and only a few rainy days. The sea is refreshing rather than warm, but a heated private pool makes a villa stay very comfortable. It is a great month for sightseeing, long lunches and quieter beaches.
June
June is one of the best months to visit. Temperatures are ideal, the sea is warm enough for swimming and the island is not yet as busy as in peak summer. Beach days at Ornos or Platis Gialos are easy and relaxed.
July
July is one of the two busiest months of the year. Expect hot, dry days, a warm sea and the full nightlife scene, from Mykonos Town to the party beaches. The Meltemi wind picks up, which keeps the heat pleasant but can make some beaches rough.
August

November to March

The Meltemi is a strong, dry north wind that blows across the Aegean from late spring into early autumn, with its strongest period from July into August. It often reaches 6 to 7 on the Beaufort scale, usually strengthening in the late morning and afternoon and easing after sunset.
- At the beach: strong wind can create waves and currents, so follow lifeguard warnings and choose sheltered beaches on windy days. Elia’s neighbour Agrari, for example, is rarely affected by the northern winds.
